Vialcount

Peptide reconstitution calculator

Tell it what's in the vial, how much water you added and your dose. It shows how far to pull the plunger on an insulin syringe.

Never lose count of a vial again

Vialcount is becoming a tracker for your whole protocol. It takes the numbers from this calculator and keeps count for you.

  • A reminder when your next dose is due
  • The next injection site, so you rotate them
  • Doses left in the vial and days since you mixed it

How the numbers are worked out

  1. Mix the vial

Peptide divided by water gives the concentration.

  2. Work out the volume

Your dose divided by the concentration gives the volume to draw.

  3. Read it in units

On a U-100 syringe, 1 mL is 100 units. Multiply the volume by 100.

Questions

What is a U-100 insulin syringe?

A syringe marked so that 100 units equal 1 mL. A 0.3 mL syringe holds 30 units, a 0.5 mL syringe 50 units and a 1 mL syringe 100 units. The 30 and 50 unit sizes are marked every unit, the 1 mL size every two units.

What is bacteriostatic water?

Sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which slows the growth of bacteria. It is used to dissolve powders in vials that are drawn from more than once.

Does adding more water change the dose?

No. The peptide in the vial stays the same. More water spreads it over more volume, so the same dose takes more units to draw. That can make small doses easier to measure.

Why does it say a dose is hard to measure?

Below a few units the gap between two marks is a large share of the dose. Adding more water to the vial makes the same dose span more units.

Does this calculator tell me what dose to take?

No. It converts a dose you already have into units on a syringe. It does not recommend doses or substances.
